Director’s Statement

“Lately, I've been interested in transitioning from the commercial directing world into a more narrative one. Since the pandemic started back in 2020 I was focusing hard on developing a feature and series.

At the beginning of 2021 I had the pleasure of meeting Waleed Sokkar (DP). Soon after he sent me the script for “Through the stars”, that’s when my personal projects took the back seat. As soon as I read the script I immediately knew this was the project I had to focus on. There were too many narrative coincidences in the script that directly related to my personal life. When you watch the film, you’ll understand, without getting into too many details 11:11 has been tattooed on my right wrist for over 15 years. And for me that was the hook.

As I got deeper into the story and backstory with the writer Ryan, everything began to come together. It’s overwhelming how excited I am to have this little, dark, deep and existential piece of storytelling come to life. Can’t wait to share it with the world.”
